Overview

FastShip Logistics wanted to reduce the load on their call center by letting customers track orders through Telegram. I built a bot that handles order tracking, shipping notifications, and support requests.

The Challenge

The logistics company was receiving 500+ calls per day from customers asking about order status. Their call center was overwhelmed, and customers were frustrated by wait times.

The Solution

I built a Telegram bot using the Telegram Bot API and Node.js with the following features:

  • Order tracking: Customers enter their order number and get real-time status updates
  • Push notifications: Automatic shipping updates sent directly to the customer’s Telegram chat
  • Multi-language support: The bot responds in English, Spanish, and Portuguese based on user preference
  • Support routing: Complex questions are forwarded to human agents who respond directly in the chat
  • Inline keyboards: Quick-action buttons for common queries (track order, change address, report issue)

The bot uses Redis for session management and PostgreSQL for order data, all deployed in Docker containers for easy scaling.
