Odoo ERP Customization

Overview

PrecisionParts Manufacturing needed an ERP that matched their unique production process. I implemented Odoo 17 with custom modules for manufacturing orders, quality control, and automated procurement.

The Challenge

The company was managing production with a combination of Excel spreadsheets and a legacy system that hadn’t been updated in 8 years. They needed a modern ERP that could handle their multi-stage manufacturing process, track inventory across two warehouses, and automate purchase orders when stock ran low.

The Solution

I deployed Odoo 17 and built three custom modules:

1. Manufacturing Workflow: Custom manufacturing orders with multi-stage quality control checkpoints, each requiring sign-off before the order moves to the next stage
2. Automated Procurement: Reorder rules that trigger purchase orders based on real-time inventory levels, lead times, and seasonal demand patterns
3. Production Dashboard: A real-time dashboard showing machine utilization, order status, and bottleneck alerts

I also customized the sales workflow to include engineering review approvals before quotes are sent to customers.
